We do not use cheap, silica-heavy bamboo that ruins knives, nor do we use domestic woods that lack the density required for heavy kitchen use. We exclusively utilize Sapele, an incredibly robust hardwood renowned for its deep, reddish-brown hues, mesmerizing chatoyancy, and exceptional durability. It is a wood that respects your knives while outlasting the competition.

Our uncompromising stance extends to the final step of the process. We completely reject petroleum-based mineral oils, which are an industry standard. Instead, we finish every piece by hand with our signature blend of organic MCT oil and raw beeswax. This 100% natural seal provides superior moisture resistance and ensures that the only things touching your food are natural wood and organic derivatives.
