About This Board

One Piece. No Compromises.
Most cutting boards are glued-up panels — multiple pieces of wood bonded together with adhesives that can harbor bacteria, absorb moisture, and eventually split apart. This board is different. It's carved from a single solid slab of Sapele hardwood — no glue, no joints, no lamination. Just one continuous piece of wood, edge to edge.

Sapele is a premium African hardwood prized for its interlocked grain, natural durability, and stunning ribbon-like figure that deepens in color with age. It's harder than walnut, more stable than maple, and significantly more beautiful than both.

Dimensions:

  • Small: 10"×12"×1" — ideal for prep work, cheese boards, and gift sets
  • Large: 12"×17"×1" — full meal prep surface, generous serving board
  • Bundle: One of each — Small + Large, save 10%

Why Single-Slab Matters

Glued cutting boards are everywhere because they're cheap to manufacture. But every glue joint is a potential failure point — a crack that collects bacteria, a seam that traps moisture, a weak spot that eventually separates in the dishwasher.

A single-slab board has none of those problems. The wood is continuous, the surface is uninterrupted, and there are no hidden adhesives touching your food preparation surface.

  • No glue: Zero adhesive, ever — not even food-safe versions
  • No mineral oil: We don't pre-coat with mineral oil, so you can choose your own food-safe finish
  • No lamination: End grain, edge grain, and face grain — all native to the slab
  • No hidden chemicals: What you see is 100% Sapele hardwood

Care Instructions

  • Hand-wash only — no dishwasher
  • Rinse with warm water, mild soap is fine
  • Towel-dry immediately after washing
  • Stand upright or lay flat to finish drying — do not store wet
  • Oil periodically with food-safe mineral oil, beeswax, or cutting board cream to maintain the wood and prevent cracking

Sapele is a naturally hard, stable wood — it does not require constant oiling like softer species. A treatment every 1-2 months under regular use keeps it looking its best for decades.

Do not put in the microwave, freezer, or dishwasher. Avoid prolonged soaking in water.

Sizing Guide

Small — 10"x12"x1"
The everyday board. Perfect for slicing bread, prepping vegetables, serving cheese and charcuterie, or as a compact gift. Fits standard kitchen counter depths without taking over the workspace.

Large — 12"x17"x1"
Full prep surface. Comfortable for breaking down a whole chicken, rolling dough, plating a large spread, or anchoring a meal presentation. The size that professional cooks reach for.

Bundle — Small + Large (save 10%)
The pair works together — use the small for quick prep, the large for main cooking. Also the most popular gift option for someone who wants a complete setup.
